In January 2025, DMCC introduced an important administrative update: all newly registered companies must now adopt the suffix “FZCO” (or “FZ Branch” for branch establishments) instead of “DMCC.”
While this requirement applies immediately to new companies, it also has implications for existing DMCC members. Here’s what you need to know:
Key Details for Existing DMCC Members
- Companies registered before 2 January 2025 will have their suffix changed gradually over time.
- During the 18-month transition period, companies using either the “FZCO” or “DMCC” suffix will be considered valid.
- This update is intended to bring DMCC company suffixes in line with other UAE free zones.
- DMCC will issue a Suffix Change Certificate for each member company.
