Types of License Offered
Professional License
Designed for consultants, service providers, and professionals. Allows 100% ownership for services such as management, IT, and marketing.
Commercial License
Enables the import, export, storage, and distribution of goods. Ideal for trading companies looking for a Dubai base.

How to Set Up a Company
in IFZA Free Zone
Step 1: Select Your Company Name and
Legal Entity Type
- Choose your business activity from the IFZA activity list
- Activity choice determines license type and office requirements
- Propose three company names in order of preference
Legal Entity Options:
Free Zone Establishment (FZE) / Free Zone Company (FZC)
- Can have 1 or more shareholders
- Separate legal entity with limited liability
Branch of Foreign or UAE Company
- Branch activities must match the parent company
- Cannot operate as a separate legal entity
- Parent company must be licensed and registered in its home country
Additional Requirements
- Share Capital:
- Minimum: AED 50,000 recommended (varies)
- Share Type: Ordinary shares with full rights
Step 2: Submit Application and
Required Documents
Individual Shareholders & Management
- Passport copy (valid minimum 6 months)
- UAE visa page + Emirates ID for residents
- Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, government-issued document)
- CV / Work Experience
- HR letter or consent letter if acting as consultant or POA
- 6-month bank statement
Parent Company Documents (if applicable)
- Certificate of Incorporation
- Trade License
- Certificate of Incumbency / Certificate of Good Standing
- Memorandum & Articles of Association
- Official translation required for non-English/non-Arabic documents
- 6-month bank statement
Step 3: Office Lease and Application Submission
- Lease a flexi-desk, virtual office, or physical office space depending on business activity
- Submit application with supporting documents
Step 4: Receive Business License
- IFZA issues the business license upon approval
- Legal operations can commence immediately in UAE and internationally
- Company formation timeline: 3–7 working days (fast-track options available)
Step 5: Post-Incorporation Steps & Annual Requirements
- Bank account opening
- Annual renewal of business license and establishment card
- Annual payment of office or flexi-desk fees
- Visa renewals for shareholders and employees
